August's Newsletter
Aloha to the month of August. In Hawaiian we say 'Aukake (ow-cah-kay).This month we have two big events that we are very excited to partake in; Heiva San Diego and Ho'ike. Last month we had the honor of performing at Del Mar Fair, SD PRIDE, and Ho'olaule'a. Let's continue to spread the Aloha spirit with one another and show the rest of the world who we are.
Del Mar Fairgrounds
San Diego each year holds one of the largest fairgrounds to date. Not only are the rides fun, but the food served there is always delicious. This year the whole haumana got to perform there and enjoy such a famous San Diego event.
Alondra Park's Ho'olaule'a
This past month, we had the privilege of representing the only San Diego Polynesian dance troupe in Los Angeles. Our show group did phenomenal as they got to experience a festival which our Kumu, Kathy Heali'i 'O Nalani Gore Stanley, helped create.

Mana - The Power Within
“MANA – The Power Within,” is a spectacular Polynesian production celebrating the 56th Anniversary of HealiÊ»i’s Polynesian Revue. Join Mana as he is transported back to ancient Polynesia where he discovers the true wisdom, respect, strength and love of his ancestors.

Asian Story Theater
Asian Story Theater seeks to broaden multicultural awareness
and understanding by dramatizing Asian and Pacific Island (API)
stories, arts, and themes for family audiences. This year AST will be featured in Healiʻiʻs production of "Mana." Director Kent Brisby and Gingerlily Lowe will be our lead actors as they guide our main character through his journey.
